A VRChat world · built in Unity
Your table is waiting.
VR Cantina is a neighbourhood Mexican restaurant rebuilt as a place to hang out in VRChat: the lit sign out front, the lobby, the dining room, the booths, the bar and the TV wall, matched to photos of the real room.
Walk through
Through the gate, past the hostess stand, into the dining room
Every picture here is a frame rendered from the world in Unity, taken from the camera moves for its 60-second commercial. Nothing is painted over.

The lobby
Tile floor, a mural over one long bench that wraps round the pier, and the name lettered on the glass behind the hostess stand.

The dining room
Baked lighting from 42 recessed cans, tuned until it matched a wide photo of the real room.

The booths and the TV wall
The booths are a kit built in code, and you can sit in them. Above them, four TVs run their own channels.

The neon niche
A beer-bottle neon sign built as real bent tubes, glowing in an arched niche with a painted border.

The bar
Stained-glass panels in the soffit, a fan over the counter, and a framed jersey on the wall.

Trivia night
Cantina Trivia runs on the bar TV. Pick up a tablet, join a team, answer A, B, C or D.
What's in it
Things to do once you sit down
Cantina Trivia
Bar trivia in the style of the old bar-TV games: a question on the TV, a points bar that drains, a live leaderboard and a podium at the end. Rounds rotate by theme. Written in UdonSharp, so it runs inside VRChat.
GNN News, Weather and Sports
Four booth TVs with their own channels: a news loop with headlines and memes, a weather channel that reads live forecast data, and two sports channels playing highlight reels.
Booths you can sit in
The green booths are built from a kit in code, not imported models, so every run tiles and every divider lines up. There are 28 sit spots, and the seat height is within 4 mm of where a seated player's knees land.
Lighting baked to a photo
The light is baked with the Bakery lightmapper and judged side by side against a photo of the real dining room, from the same camera spot. The seventh round passed an independent judge.
A sign that is really a sign
The VR Cantina sign is a channel-letter sign: every piece of the logo is its own lit can, standing off the stucco. The red awning over the door glows Immediate Seating.
PC now, Quest next
The world is built and lit on PC. A Quest version shares the same scene, with heavy pieces stripped and textures shrunk for the Quest download limit.

How to visit
Not on the VRChat world list yet
The world is not public yet. The first milestone is friends play it start to end on their own and give feedback; the second is the content at real quality, with the feel and polish done. It goes public after that. The milestones page shows how close each one is, straight from the project's issue tracker.
Made with Unity, the VRChat SDK and UdonSharp, the Bakery lightmapper, Blender and InstaLOD. Some furniture and small props come from bought or free Unity asset packs; they are not shown on this site as original work. The building, signs, booths, TVs, trivia game and lighting are built for this world.
